READ OFFICIAL GM/UAW TENTATIVE AGREEMENT HIGHLIGHTS!

STATEMENT FROM JERRY TUCKER, WARREN DAVIS AND PAUL SCHRADE REGARDING TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

"The Big 3 clamor to relieve themselves of the cost of retiree health care may be applauded by Wall Street and the investor class, but unions have a different responsibility and a different constituency.

We respectfully recommend that the GM UAW membership vote ‘NO’ and that the leadership instruct the workers to remain at work while they rejoin the negotiations to correct the VEBA mistake and other unjust concessions currently in the tentative agreement."

I was told from the International that all jobs at Baltimore Powertrain are subject to Appendix A. First Plant layoff's return , then area hire. This is in effect until the National agreement expires in 2011. The only thing that may be an issue, are these job most likely will not materialize for a while, who knows what will happen between now and then.

I was just corrrected. The info given by the international rep.was wrong. The information gm1985 posted is right. The new work will be a seperate GM business unit and a seperate UAW contact.

Is this going to be common practice now to create jobs at gm faculties for low wage people off the street when we have seniority gm employees on lay off in that area hire ? Evil or Very Mad
